Elder Planning Solutions will review the planning examples of a retired school superintendent, a working couple and an elderly widow confronted with the unexpected challenges of paying for chronic care in the face of a critical life event. Follow their progress step by step as a plan is implemented to protect the family home and retirement savings, access long term care benefits and provide for heirs.
Essential Estate and Trust Planning is moderated by an attorney, and will continue with legal insights and planning examples that address common myths and pitfalls associated with planning for heirs, protecting the homestead and designating representatives. There is also vital information on planning strategies on how to protect assets and the family home in the face of a critical life event. Learn the importance of obtaining legal advice from a qualified attorney on matters related to Medicaid and VA care benefits.
This forum includes an overview of long term Medicaid and Veterans Aid & Attendance benefits qualification rules and strategies – and additional planning tips that address budgeting for home care, Aging in Place, parenting the parents, preventing financial exploitation and elder abuse, Medicare, personalized medicine, Viatical settlements, end of life planning, Grief counseling, estate tax issues, essential legal documents, Incapacity, Homestead protection, Trust and succession planning.
These workshops are offered to CPA's. Both presentations offer valuable financial insight and building blocks to assist your clients with protecting the family home and retirement assets from the devastating costs of long term care – and carry on a family legacy that will be cherished and honored for years to come.
